How to Give

Together, we can grow giving and amplify our impact to create meaningful change in Houston County. Learn about the many ways you can partner with us to make a difference.

1. Give Now

You can make a tax-deductible gift directly to The Fund for Houston County, which is the flagship charitable fund that solely supports Houston County nonprofits and charitable projects both now and for generations to come.

Give by Check: Mail your check payable to ‘Community Foundation of Central Georgia’ to 577 Mulberry Street, Suite 1600 Macon, GA 31201 and indicate ‘Fund for Houston County’ on the memo line.

Give Online: Make a gift online using a debit or credit card.

Give Stock: A gift of appreciated stock is a great way to support Houston County, receive a tax deduction and potentially avoid capital gains tax.

Make a Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA: Individuals who have reached age 70 ½ may donate up to $100,000 per taxpayer per year to charitable organizations directly from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA) without treating the distribution as taxable income.

2. Create a Fund

Your personal philanthropy can be easy, efficient and impactful if you create your own charitable fund through the Community Foundation of Houston County. Create your own fund to support the charitable organizations and causes important to you, in Houston County or beyond.  Your legacy can extend for generations to come by choosing successors to advise your fund when you are no longer able.

3. Leave a Legacy

You can create a charitable legacy for your community through a planned gift. When you make a commitment to strengthen your community today or in the future through a gift in your will, you are making a meaningful and lasting impact on the community and organizations you love. We can accept many types of assets and work closely with you and your advisor on your options.
